"GESTOS LOCALES is a response to closure of art venues and the lack of art and cultural resources during the COVID-19 outbreak in the Texas / Mexico border. The open call is a regional opportunity aimed at sharing artworks from border artists between Brownsville/Matamoros and El Paso/ Cd. Juarez. GESTOS LOCALES, a virtual exhibition powered by D Emptyspace, will curate a show made out of 5 border artists from the eligible award open call. The virtual exhibition will be curated by Veronica Gaona in conversation with Nabil Gonzalez, Jessie Burciaga, Hugo Santana, Josue Ramirez."
