A welcoming ceremony wherein Maori delegates will perform traditional formalities, known as pōwhiri, to initiate their week long study of Maori works in the Menil Collection. They will be joined by Coushatta Tribe Elders in the ceremony. The ceremony will be finished by a performance of the Haka dance and Hongi nose pressing ceremony. Admission is free. Seating is limited
