Historic Houston, a nonprofit dedicated to the salvage and re-use of historic buildings and materials, will open it’s temporary storage warehouse at 4300 Harrisburg Road, this Sunday, January 27th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and sell off some of it’s stock of old flooring, old bathtubs, old doorknobs, old windows, and other old stuff, salvaged from historic buildings which have been demolished as it works towards re-opening in a permanent location.
This warehouse was donated to Historic Houston last fall, after the org’s warehouse on Clay St. closed in June 2011. The one-day sale is part of a campaign to re-start the org’s popular salvage program, which claims to have diverted over a million cubic feet of scrap from Houston landfills.
Sunday’s sale is in the rough- no electricity, no water, no bathrooms. Cash or checks only.
