Dunn and Brown Contemporary is splitting up after twelve years at 5020 Tracy St. in Dallas. According to gallery co- founder Talley Dunn, the split reflects the partners’ personal preferences and aspirations; Dunn will continue with a public gallery at the old location, consolidating from a roster of 35 artists to 21. Brown plans to focus art consulting and private dealing. Dunn said she felt “a huge sense of positive energy” around the change. She has hired Beth Taylor, former Collections Manager for Howard Rachofsky, as Director of the newly revitalized gallery, whose website, Talleydunn.com, is promised to be up next week. Founded by partners Talley Dunn and Lisa Brown in 1999, the gallery has shows some of the most important Texas artists, many of whom were also represented by Devin Borden/Hiram Butler Gallery in Houston, whose partners also recently split.
