Supreme Court says art cars aren’t art

The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear the case of Michael Kleinman, who was ordered by the city of San Marcos to remove a decorated 1988 Oldsmobile in front of his Planet K store. Kleinman fought the order on first amendment free-speech grounds and lost; judge Edith Jones ruled that  while the first amemdment “unquestionably shielded” great works of art, like Jackson Pollocks, painted junked cars are fair game.
