Via Bowerbird: Last December, the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts in Lubbock (Lubbock’s hub for visual art) received a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts, and “it has met and exceeded the $100,000 matching campaign to build an outdoor stage and amenities on its Plaza.”
It’s not just a big outdoor stage that’s going up outside the main gallery compound. Greenrooms and restrooms, etc., are part of the deal, and construction began in early June. The launch party is set for September 30, is free and open to the public, and features Beto and the Fairlanes.
