Alice Leora Briggs: The Room

Briggs draws upon her experiences in Juárez, Mexico, where she spends much of her time. Traveling as often as possible to an asylum built by a visionary referred to as “El Pastor” and sited on the desert fringe of Juárez; she helps and she works with the residents on art projects. The show includes selections from The Room, a suite of twelve woodcut prints, each corresponding to a line of Mark Strand’s poem of the same title.
