The annual Joint Mathematics Meetings of the American Mathematical Society and Mathematical Association of America was held recently in Baltimore and, among other math business, they hosted the annual Mathematical Art Exhibition, juried by “86 mathematicians and artists from around the world.” The Mathematical Art Exhibition Awards are given out “for aesthetically pleasing works that combine mathematics and art” and the 2014 winner is San Antonio artist Conan Chadbourne.
Chadbourne’s set of works, Enigmatic Plan of Inclusion I & II, which was awarded best photograph, painting, or print, will be on view at San Antonio’s Gallery Nord February 28 through March 22.
