Ice Festival Makes the Freezing Temperatures Look Cool!

It’s not as crazy cold as it is up north, but most Texas cities will not get too far above freezing today. In the northeast China province of Harbin, though, the temperatures are falling into the single digits and headed towards below zero—which is a good thing since the 30th annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival opened on Sunday.

7,000 artists have been working for over a month on the ice city to create the largest festival of its kind in the world, which lasts for a month (sometimes longer, depending on the weather). To bring a little magic into this bitter cold, enjoy these Reuters photographs (via an International Business Times article on the festival).
